The pinewood derby will take place at Our Saviors Lutheran
Church. It is an event where each scout brings a pinewood derby car
that he and his parent have constructed together. Pack 50 provides a
pinewood derby car kit to each scout. He will compete against the
other scouts in Pack 50 in several competitions. Each car must be
constructed to conform to the council rules:
Page 1 and
Page 2.
Additionally the top three racers out of the pack will advance to
the district pinewood derby. |

Timed Race |
A race on a six lane aluminum track with electronic timers |

Distance Event |
An event where the scout releases his car on a single lane ramp to
see how far it travels |
|
Points Event |
An event where the scout releases his car on a single lane ramp to
try to have his car stop on a high points area of the floor |
|
Appearance Judging |
Each scout is given a voting slip to vote for his overall favorite
car. In addition to overall favorite, scouts vote for the fastest
looking car, the funniest, and the most realistic car. |

Awards are given out for each of the events and appearance judging. |
